Welcome to The Pump Room a unique dining and entertainment venue at Singapore’s Clarke Quay. We offer a microbrewery, bistro and bar with a live band and room to party.
The microbrewery
Beer at its best!
Guests can look forward to a range of classic and speciality beers freshly brewed onsite by Head Brewer Alex Chasko who is armed with a Master of Science in Brewing from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland – a renowned institution for brewing and distilling.
The beer is unpasteurised and unfiltered, and has no added chemicals or preservatives. This means you will enjoy the great taste of fresh, natural beer. In addition to his own brews, Alex is also offering a selection of top bottled beers from around the world. This affable gentleman also conducts frequent tours of the microbrewery and beer tasting for guests.
Available microbrewery beers:
The Pump Room Lager – Golden, crisp, clean and easy drinking
Bohemian Lager – Darker with more hops flavour than most Pilsners
Scottish Ale – Hardy, roasted malt characters with a slightly sweet finish
India Pale Ale – Copper coloured, strong hops aroma, malty flavour
Wheat Ale – Pure white head, cloudy body and full of character
The bistro
Contemporary Australian cuisine
The menu is designed by Consultant Chef Karl Dobler, who has extensive experience in Modern Australian cuisine and has worked in renowned restaurants in Switzerland, Austria, Australia and Singapore. Guests can expect Australian-inspired specialities bursting with seasonal ingredients and sparkling flavours.

Quality tipples at reasonable prices
Besides offering world class beers, The Pump Room also serves an excellent selection of wines with an emphasis on choice picks from Australia and New Zealand. In an effort to make quality wines accessible to customers, the microbrewery and bistro offers a good variety of wines by the glass – a range which includes top scoring winners. A comprehensive menu of house pours, signature cocktails and bottled beers is also available.
The band
One of the country’s best!
Jive Talkin’ – one of Singapore’s most popular and established bands – spices up the evening with its vibrant and funky repertoire of pop, rock and jazz. They entertain every night (except Mondays) from 10.30pm.
The interior
Contemporary and tropical
The cosy interior takes its cue from a traditional beer hall and wine cellar, enhanced with a modern tropical expression. Gaining inspiration from the rainforest, interior designer Ed Poole of Poole Associates ingeniously blends the generous use of wood such as teak and coconut planking on the ceiling with contemporary design elements such as white fibre-glass columns specially made in the likeness of the Gayam tree of Central Java. In addition, 5000 pieces of hand ground mirror tiles line the walls with intricate ‘crop circle’ detailing, relating to the wheat and brewing process. Also noteworthy are the quirky ‘shower head’ lights over the bar, which emit amber LED lighting.
